PICKLED LEMONS WITH MATCHA & PEPPERCORNS
Our Pickled Lemons! I am very proud of this pickle as it is a combination of all the different elements. Sweetness from the Sugar, Sourness from the Lemons, Earthiness from the Organic Matcha & a little spice from the Peppercorns! Plus twang from the vinegar too!
// Great in a G&T! Pop in a segment + a dash of the brine! Our favourite way to enjoy them. (If you want them to go further you don’t have to use a full sugment either).
Or enjoy squeezed over a salad. Should you ever find yourself just wanting a segment of a lemon to squeeze over that avo, this way you won't waste any! Use it as and when you please. Use it to infuse oils, soups, stews - this is probably our most versatile pickle and great to have on hand in the cupboard! You can also fine chop the pickled lemon peel and add to a dressing!
I always use Unwaxed Lemons for this Pickle - this time from Bonners greengrocers in the Covered Market!
All our Pickles, Chutneys and Jams are made by hand, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients! Pickling what is in season & available locally around Oxfordshire! This one (the lemons) is obviously sourced a bit further afield than Oxford - but we use a lovely local supplier to source them for us :)
We also use fresh herbs & spices in all our products and have a no single-use plastic policy across the business!
