ABOUT

Cranston Pickles is your homemade, sustainable, tasty little Pickle Factory! Based in Oxford and Set up by local lass Fiona Cranston.

Fiona's love of Pickles came from her Grandparents Rowland and Sylvia, where every Christmas (and Christmas alone even due to popular demand), a jar of pickled eggs would grace the table. Since then, her love for Japan and subsequent trips have expanded her love for pickles and it has eventually grown into Cranston Pickles!

Pickling anything and everything that is in season and available locally around Oxfordshire, we have an ever changing Pickle Menu! We use fresh herbs & spices in all our pickles making sure they each pack a punch in their own way.

It doesn't just stop at the Pickles - we do Pickled Supperclubs and Street food Pop-ups where we showcase our Pickles in a variety of (usually Japanese inspired) dishes! Our most signature item being our range of Vegetarian Scotch egg with our Pickled eggs inside! We make everything from scratch to use local produce, avoid unnecessary packaging and make it extra tasty & nutritious - so you are always in for a treat!

SUSTAINABILITY

Cranston Pickles has a no single-use plastic policy across the business! All packaging is recyclable, re-useable or biodegradable - and responsibly sourced. Our jars have a full-cycle pickle life where they can be returned, sterilised and re-used!

We source all our produce locally around Oxfordshire, pickling what is in season and available locally! This helps to keep our carbon footprint down and support local farmers and producers. It also gives us an ever changing pickle menu - bringing back traditions of using what is grown around us, as well as preserving methods to ensure minimal food waste! We have a mixture of seasonal specials, alongside staple favourites and use fresh herbs and spices throughout to make sure they each pack a punch in their own way.

We are also part of ONE TREE PLANTED !! (A non-profit organisation focused on Global Reforestation). With every order placed on our online pickle shop a tree is planted to help with global reforestation! We make our donation every year as part of their “one for one” scheme and pick a different region each time.

So far we have donated to their projects in ASIA + UK!

PICKLED MARKETS

We have spots at a number of regular markets selling our Pickles, Chutneys & Jams alongside our signature Vegetarian Scotch eggs!

I give recommendations on what to enjoy them with + am on hand to talk all things pickley!

I am also usually accompanied by my side kick Patsy (for those who haven’t met her yet - she is my little pickle van!)

PICKLED STREET FOOD

Our Street food is Vegetarian or Vegan and all homemade using locally sourced produce! Everything is made from scratch to avoid unnecessary packaging and make it extra tasty! It is usually Japanese inspired and always served up on eco-friendly (and responsibly sourced), disposable crockery. There is also usally a pickle or two involved - but we are all about balance!

PICKLED SUPPERCLUBS

We hold seasonal supperclubs throughout the year - celebrating the seasons through the produce available at that time from our lovely local suppliers! Each dish will showcase our pickles, chutneys or jams to show how to use preserves in a variety of balanced + inventive ways!

We love the social component as well as the variety of sharing small plates so that is what we create within our menu each time - hosted at different venues around Oxford!
